1. Z: For the unmistakable sound of Mikis Theodorakis' scores inspired by traditional Greek music, in both films.
2. BAND OF OUTSIDERS: Both films have a spontaneous dance sequence simply there to relate a moment of pure joy and life!
3. TASTE OF CHERRY: In Zorba the Greek, Alan Bates is a man held back by his over-rationality, and he is taught to appreciate the simple pleasures in life by the Dionysian Zorba who is fully atuned to the pleasures and zests of life.... this has some similarity to the central moment of Taste of Cherry, when the taxidermist teaches a valuable lesson about life and its pleasures to the suicidial driver.
