Safety Last! (1923)

  1. The acting, expressions and music were all superb and I definitely had a wide smile in numerous scenes (such as the shuffle crawl on the floor, for one). I didn't physically laugh which could sound a little strange to other people I guess. I don't think these films are ever really laugh out loud though so maybe it's ok that I didn't laugh, I don't know. One of my favourite scenes was the first scene in the fabric shop where a lady looks at all the fabric but in the end only wants a sample, it's unbelievably accurate. Often I find that the scenes that are so accurate like that, are the funniest ones because you can relate to them. It was fun to watch so I'm glad I watched it. I think on first glance, I still put Chaplin and Keaton above him but I need to see more from him.
